Every pack tool keeps meeting planning and requirement sign-off on separate screens. You plan the meeting in one place, take attendance in another, then re-pick the same scouts a third time to mark them complete. Carabiner joins those into one record.
What a session is
- A meeting for one den or for the whole pack. Date, unit, topic, and the requirements it covers.
- Requirements mapped per rank. A pack-wide flag ceremony credits the Wolf requirement for Wolves and the Bear requirement for Bears from one roll call. A den meeting usually maps one rank.
- Plan ahead or record after. Both are the same record. A late session log does not lose attendance; check-ins attach to the session by den and date.
- Recurring den meetings as a series, editable one at a time.
- Under two minutes on a phone. Pick requirements from your rank’s catalog, grouped by adventure, searchable by our short labels.
The calendar
Sessions are the calendar. A month view and a list view per den, an .ics feed per den and per unit, and, for anything a unit marks public, an embeddable calendar the pack can drop into its own website with one script tag, plus a read-only feed a web developer can pull from. Public items carry a title, time, place, and den label, and nothing about people.
The catalog
The 2024 Cub Scout program: six ranks, required and elective adventures, and the individual requirement check-offs under each. Carabiner stores official identifiers and its own short labels. It does not store requirement text or badge artwork; that belongs to Scouting America, and Scoutbook Plus stays the official record.
