One family record that follows your kid across every club they belong to.
Carabiner is for the adults who run a Cub Scout pack, a den, a team, or a class: the roster, the calendar, attendance at the door, and the advancement record that attendance should already be filling in. Parents get one login for every kid and every group.
Clip in. Hold it together.
Carabiner is in its first program year with one Cub Scout pack. Free for every pack today. Anything marked Coming is on the build plan, not in the app yet.
The family record
One login. Every kid. Every group. Built
A parent signs in once and sees all of their kids and all of the groups those kids belong to: a pack this year, a troop later, the soccer team in between. An adult who leads two dens and is a parent in another pack is one person with one login, holding each of those roles at once. Nothing is re-entered when a kid moves up or a family joins a second group.
- Guardians per kid. Co-parents both see the same record.
- Roles per unit and per den, any number at once.
- Switch between groups without signing out.
Attendance that counts
The QR at the door fills in the advancement record. Coming
One QR code for the whole pack. A parent scans it, picks their household, ticks who is here, done. The time comes from the server, never a typed date. When the den leader has logged what the meeting covered, every scout who was there gets a proposed completion for each requirement of their rank, and the leader confirms the batch, with exceptions, in one pass.
Presence is not completion; the leader still decides. But the double entry is gone, and confirmed completions go to Scoutbook Plus as an upload file that has already been checked against the roster.
Dens and groups
Dens with their own leaders and their own schedules.
Dens Built ยท Schedules Coming
A pack is six dens that meet on different nights. Each den has its own leaders, and will have its own calendar, sessions, and .ics feed; the pack calendar rolls them up. Den leaders see their den. The Cubmaster sees everything. A family subscribes to the dens their kids are in, not to the whole pack's noise.
Collections
Dues, fees, and fundraising, in the same place as the roster. Coming
Collect dues, event fees, and fundraising sales from the families already on the app, with the payer covering the processing fee, so a pack never pays to collect its own money. Collections will be free for every group, kit or no kit. This is on the plan, not in the app; we say so wherever it comes up.
For councils
Every unit you charter, on one screen. Coming
Roll-ups across your packs, roster health before recharter, and a reason the parents will already be on it: their kids' other groups are too. Scoutbook Plus stays the official record; Carabiner is where the meetings happen.
