Presence is not completion. A scout can be at a meeting and leave early, or arrive after the part that mattered. Carabiner treats attendance as a proposal and leaves the decision with the leader, which is the answer to the objection that kept this feature out of every other tool.
The confirm queue
- After a session, the den leader sees the count. “Twelve proposed completions for six scouts.”
- A grid of scouts by requirements, all ticked. Untick the exceptions. Set one completion date for the batch (it defaults to the session date). Confirm.
- Manual completions from the same screen, for work done at home or at a different event.
- Revert with a reason until the completion has been exported. After export, reverting creates a flagged correction instead of quietly changing history.
- Every grant writes an audit row with who confirmed it and which session it came from.
Adventures and ranks are derived
Completions are stored per requirement, never per adventure. When every requirement of an adventure is confirmed, the adventure is earned. When the required adventures for a rank plus the elective count are earned, the rank is earned. Nobody re-enters an award.
The awards ledger
Each earned award carries three flags: earned, purchased, presented.
- The Scout Shop list is everything earned and not purchased, grouped by item with quantities. Print it before the trip.
- The presentation list is everything purchased and not presented, grouped by den. Print it before the pack meeting.
- Mark purchased and presented in bulk.
Who confirms is a setting per pack: den leaders confirm their own den, or the advancement chair confirms everything. The chair can always review and revert.
