These are the three small features that make parents open the app for a reason other than reading advancement, and they are the front half of check-in: “coming?” before the meeting, “here” at the door, the same people and the same session.
RSVP by household
One guardian answers for every kid and adult in the family from the session screen. Leaders get a working headcount that rolls up by household instead of three unrelated guesses. The answer carries into check-in, so the door list is already mostly right.
Roster health
One screen, before the first meeting, that shows what will cause trouble later:
- Youth with no guardian on the record.
- Guardians who have never signed in.
- Likely duplicate records.
- Youth with no den.
- Missing member IDs. (This part is in the app today, as the missing-ID checklist.)
Pro will add compliance reporting on top of it for the committee: expiring training, unpaid dues, and the like.
Volunteer slots
A job with a name, a count, and a time window: “Check-in table, 6:15 to 6:45”, not “help needed”. A guardian claims one from the session; the gaps stay visible until someone does. No messaging required.
Joining a unit
A unit invite code, shown as a QR at a parent meeting, lets a family join on the spot and lands a parent-created youth record in the unit already approved. Anyone without the code goes through the normal join request that a unit admin approves. The code can be rotated by the admin at any time.
